This field of study combines research training in neuroscience and cognitive psychology. The Department features numerous faculty members who explore human psychology from a biological standpoint, enabling students to examine the physiological foundations of learning, memory, neurological disorders, visual perception, and visuomotor coordination.
Neuroscience faculty provide instruction in neuropsychology, developmental neuroscience, neurotoxicology, and fMRI techniques.
Cognitive science specialists contribute knowledge in language processing, visual and auditory perception, selective attention, and memory systems.
Program participants will enhance their critical thinking and independent research skills while maintaining effective teamwork abilities. The curriculum features an adaptable core structure that allows for specialized research focus during graduate studies. Students may also partner with faculty from other Psychology disciplines and related social, behavioral, and biomedical science fields.
