Entomology focuses on researching insects and related species. As the most abundant and varied creatures on our planet, insects inhabit nearly every water and land environment. They play crucial roles in pollination, parasitism, predation, defoliation, scavenging, decomposition, and serving as food sources for other animals. The variety of insect life serves as an indicator of ecological well-being. Agricultural and forestry outputs face significant challenges from harmful insects, and pest management strategies can have wide-ranging environmental impacts. Insects display remarkable behavioral, physical, and biological adaptations to their surroundings, offering clear examples of evolutionary processes. The Department provides both M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs. For either degree, candidates must excel in conducting research and presenting their findings in a thesis. Required coursework includes developing communication abilities, enhancing analytical skills, and exploring various entomological and scientific disciplines. The Ph.D. program combines advanced studies with extensive research.
Expected Completion Time - 4 years.
