Physics investigates everything from the vast cosmos to the tiniest subatomic particles, studying the forces that bind them and drive them apart. Astronomy and astrophysics delve into galaxies and stars, exploring stellar life cycles, supernova explosions that generate cosmic rays and pulsars, galactic rotation patterns that hint at dark matter, and the universe's origins and development.

Qualification Requirements

To declare the BSc Major or Honours in Physics and Astronomy, you first must be accepted into the Faculty of Science. The following are the minimum requirements for entry into the Faculty of Science.

Direct entry means you are applying to the program directly out of high school or have completed fewer than 24 credit hours at a recognized university or college.

Advanced entry Applicants are those who have completed one year (24 credit hours) or more of studies in another faculty at the University of Manitoba or another recognized post-secondary institution.

IAEP (Intensive Academic English Program): Minimum score required: Pass Level 5/AEPUCE (Academic English Program for University and College Entrance)

IELTS (Academic - computer or paper) or IELTS Indicator: Minimum score required: 6.5 overall; Minimum score of 6.0 in each of the four modules (listening, reading, speaking, writing); and IELTS One Skill Retake results are accepted by the Undergraduate Admissions Office, University of Manitoba
