Genetics explores the study of heredity and how traits are passed down through generations. The Genetics curriculum covers three core disciplines: classical genetics, population genetics, and molecular genetics. Students will examine breakthroughs in medical science, farming methods, inherited intelligence, GMOs, genetic counseling, and therapeutic gene editing.
The Faculty of Science provides various Bachelor of Science degree options in Genetics. These Genetics programs are collaboratively administered by the Biological Sciences and Microbiology departments. Graduates with an undergraduate Genetics degree pursuing advanced studies can find research prospects in diverse fields such as Biological Sciences and Microbiology.
