The Food Science program enables students to investigate how agricultural ingredients are transformed into wholesome, secure, and attractive food products. Learners can specialize in either the commercial side (covering product innovation and promotion) or the scientific dimension (focusing on food standards and security) of this dynamic industry.
Food science professionals inspire the thinkers who nourish global populations. They examine food's physical, microbial, and chemical properties to create nutritious, tasty, and groundbreaking food items found in stores worldwide. Within the Bachelor of Science (Food Science) curriculum, students explore food protection, chemistry, microbial science, processing technology, and sensory evaluation. They gain deeper insights into how farm-grown materials evolve and how these substances are manufactured and prepared into edible goods before reaching customers. Specialization tracks available: Science – Delves into food processing techniques, packaging solutions, and preservation methods, Business – Examines the commercial and financial aspects of food manufacturing, including sales strategies and investment planning, designed for aspiring industry executives and business owners.
