The Spanish program aims to immerse students in critical reading and writing, focusing on the literary, linguistic, cultural, and cinematic traditions of Spain and Latin America. To enhance students' communication abilities, the program offers training to help them develop and improve their Spanish speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Additionally, the literature courses allow students to explore diverse periods and styles, while customizing their academic path based on individual interests. BA Advanced: Requires 120 credit hours with at least a 2.0 GPA in all mandatory courses. Students can choose a major-minor combination or opt for a double major instead of a minor.

Qualification Requirements

The following are minimum requirements for entry into the Bachelor of Arts in Spanish program. Meeting these requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the program.

Direct entry applicants are those who have not attended a post-secondary institution or have completed fewer than 24 credit hours at a recognized university or college.

Advanced entry applicants are those who have completed one year (24 credit hours) or more of studies in another faculty at the University of Manitoba or another recognized post-secondary institution.

IELTS (Academic - computer or paper) or IELTS Indicator: Minimum score required: 6.5 overall; Minimum score of 6.0 in each of the four modules (listening, reading, speaking, writing); and IELTS One Skill Retake results are accepted by the Undergraduate Admissions Office, University of Manitoba
