Through examining sacred writings, artifacts, rituals, and digital expressions, we investigate both ancient and modern belief systems across cultures. The curriculum reveals the rich heritage of various faith communities while highlighting humanity's creative adaptations - whether preserving customs, reforming outdated approaches, or developing innovative lifestyles.
Our professors specialize in major world religions such as Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and ancient Roman practices, with regional focus on Europe, the Middle East, North America and the Indian subcontinent. Their interdisciplinary approach incorporates techniques from anthropology, historical studies, philosophical inquiry, psychological research and sociological analysis

Qualification Requirements
The following are minimum requirements for entry into the Religion (BA) program. Meeting these requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
Direct entry applicants are those who have not attended a post-secondary institution or have completed fewer than 24 credit hours at a recognized university or college.
Advanced entry applicants are those who have completed one year (24 credit hours) or more of studies in another faculty at the University of Manitoba or another recognized post-secondary institution.
