The Master of Fine Arts (MFA) program provides graduate students with advanced study options in Art, New Media, and Dramatic Arts. These MFA programs integrate scholarly research, theoretical frameworks, and hands-on practice within each discipline. Students learn from faculty members who are both practicing artists and academics, creating an environment that encourages deep exploration of both material and conceptual aspects of creative work. The program culminates in a Thesis project that synthesizes each student's focused research in their specialization.

The city of Lethbridge boasts a thriving arts scene with multiple artist collectives and contemporary galleries such as the University of Lethbridge Art Gallery, Casa, Trianon Gallery, Parlour, and the renowned Southern Alberta Art Gallery. Graduate students have access to various exhibition venues, including the University's downtown Penny Building. The Drama Department benefits from exceptional theater spaces, workshops, and studios, while the Faculty of Fine Arts presents an extensive annual program featuring mainstage shows, student-led studio productions, and numerous other theatrical performances.
