Philosophy examines core inquiries regarding existence, the cosmos, humanity, society, scientific principles, morality, and artistic expression. As a philosophy scholar, you'll study the intellectual groundwork shaping our political structures, social frameworks, legal institutions, and our comprehension of contemporary scientific and technological advancements. The discipline invites you to grapple with profound theoretical, practical, and ethical dilemmas that transcend conventional academic boundaries. Through its analytical and questioning methodology, philosophy presents stimulating examinations of complex concepts concerning morality, temporal and spatial dimensions, consciousness, and cognition. The field maintains a strong connection to its extensive heritage, tracing back over two and a half millennia. Departmental offerings concentrate on these foundational explorations through courses dedicated to classical, renaissance, enlightenment, and contemporary philosophical thinkers and schools of thought.
