The Department of Clinical Studies is dedicated to advancing animal healthcare through both foundational and applied research across diverse species, including pets (dogs, cats, birds, and exotic animals), performance animals (mainly horses), and livestock. Our clinical specialties include Anaesthesiology, Cardiology, Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Nutrition, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Radiology, and Surgery. The Master of Science (MSc) program mandates at least 3 graduate-level courses along with developing and defending a thesis based on original research, typically completed within 6 semesters.
Alternatively, the coursework-and-project track requires 4.5 credits minimum, featuring six 0.5-credit graduate courses plus a compulsory 1.0-credit major project spanning two semesters. This project, guided by the student's advisory committee, involves conducting a literature review, contributing to clinical research or a retrospective analysis, drafting a publishable manuscript, and delivering a departmental seminar presentation. The advisory committee will evaluate the final grade based on the written work and oral defense.
