The Computational Sciences PhD program aims to develop interdisciplinary experts skilled at addressing modern challenges across scientific and humanities fields by employing investigative approaches, cutting-edge research, and contemporary computing methods. This full-time doctoral program spans four years (12 semesters), requiring students to complete the Technical and Communication Research Methodology course (CIS6890) along with any supplementary graded coursework designated by their Advisory Committee. Candidates must deliver two public presentations, pass a comprehensive qualifying examination, conduct original research, and ultimately defend their doctoral dissertation in a final oral examination. The program equips graduates for careers in both academic and professional sectors.
Students must have
? A recognized thesis-based Master’s degree in Computer Science, or in a discipline that is closely related to the proposed thesis research ? A research proposal (max. 1500 words) indicating potential supervisors ? Minimum 75% admission average over the last 2 years of full-time study for a graduate degree
