The Government, Economics, and Management program provides insights into public sector operations from both internal and external perspectives - examining it as a cohesive system and as a collection of policy decisions and results. Using a blend of political, economic, and business-focused methodologies, students explore the motivations behind political and bureaucratic actions and how to improve policy development and implementation. Public sector management presents distinct challenges tied to fundamental democratic principles such as transparency, equality, and justice, while also addressing universal organizational needs like productivity, resource allocation, employee satisfaction, strategic planning, and responsiveness to evolving circumstances.
The Government, Economics, and Management Co-op option spans five years and incorporates five professional work placements.
This program attracts students pursuing careers in government agencies, public enterprises, or the intersection of business and public policy.
