The Bachelor of Arts in Justice and Legal Studies equips students with comprehensive knowledge of legal systems and judicial procedures in Canada and internationally, while enabling them to analyze through interdisciplinary perspectives how justice relates to legal institutions, social structures, political systems, and governance. This program's foundation integrates insights from legal-political studies, socio-legal research, political science, and other academic disciplines to give students functional knowledge about legal systems and institutions at both local and global levels. Additionally, it challenges students to assess how laws and legal frameworks influence - and are influenced by - societal actors and power relations within governments and communities.
Become part of one of Canada's leading law and political science departments to discover how legal systems and processes can either support or hinder justice initiatives and quality-of-life improvements. The Justice and Legal Studies curriculum examines legal principles, justice systems, and court procedures in domestic and international settings, providing excellent preparation for careers in the legal field.
