The Social Service Worker diploma is a two-year, 62-credit program equipping students for careers in social service organizations and educational institutions. Alumni find employment across diverse fields such as correctional facilities, family assistance programs, Indigenous support services, mental health care, residential treatment centers, immigrant settlement programs, addiction recovery, and women's support services. The Indigenous-focused Social Service Worker diploma trains students to provide culturally appropriate services to Indigenous communities within social service and school environments. Graduates approach their work with cultural sensitivity while gaining insight into how colonialism has affected Indigenous populations. Both program options offer career-ready skills while providing transferable credits toward a Bachelor of Social Work or similar degree. Those pursuing social work careers can gain experience as social service workers before completing their degree. According to British Columbia's 2025 Labour Market Outlook, social work ranks among the most promising professions with strong anticipated job growth.Application deadlines:Winter term: September 30Summer term: February 1Fall term: April 15
