Trent University offers outstanding Indigenous diploma programs designed specifically for self-identifying First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students seeking to begin university-level education. Within a welcoming and culturally inclusive setting, participants in the Foundations of Indigenous Learning diploma program share their rich cultural heritage, traditions, historical perspectives, and languages. Graduates of these diploma programs can seamlessly continue their academic journey by applying their credits toward a Bachelor's degree, with most students earning both credentials within four years. This transition-year program welcomes Indigenous applicants who meet Grade 12 equivalency, qualify as mature students, or receive special admission approval from the First Peoples House of Learning Director and Registrar's Office. Indigenous learners are strongly encouraged to apply. Upon successful completion, graduates receive both the diploma and an official Trent University transcript documenting all completed courses and achieved grades, with all coursework counting toward university credit.
