Urban design is the field dedicated to shaping and overseeing the continuous evolution of cities, influenced by urbanization, global economic forces, and technological progress.
The one-year Master of Urban Design program concentrates on urban design across various scales, ranging from regional areas to individual neighborhood blocks. This post-professional curriculum blends design studios with classes covering urban design history, theory, economics, and public policy. The rigorous program allows students to pursue specialized interests through elective courses and research projects.
This demanding program bridges academic study with modern professional practice. Annually, it investigates a specific urban design theme through collaborations with local organizations. In studio courses, students work alongside faculty, community stakeholders, and industry experts on practical projects with potential real-world implementation.
Applicants require a professional degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or Planning.
