The Master of Public Health (MPH) program combines studies in epidemiology, biostatistics, health determinants, population health, global health, disease prevention, and health systems management with hands-on training through practical placements.
This two-year, non-thesis program spans six academic terms of coursework.
The MPH Practicum involves a 12-week supervised placement in community health organizations across Canada or internationally, allowing students to implement classroom knowledge while enhancing their community health skills.

Students can arrange their practicum during any term after finishing at least one full term of studies.

Previous placements have included positions within Canadian Regional Health Authorities' public health units, provincial departments like Health and Labour ministries, federal organizations including the Public Health Agency of Canada and First Nations Health Authority, as well as research institutions such as the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS and the Contraception Access Research Team.
