The Department of Health Sciences provides an on-campus, thesis-focused Master of Health Sciences (MHSc) program aimed at equipping students with the expertise to conduct supervised research in various health-related fields. Students begin with core courses before selecting specialized electives to build comprehensive knowledge in their chosen research area. While learners can pursue quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-method research approaches, foundational skills in both quantitative and qualitative methodologies are required. The program's flexible design permits elective coursework in research methodologies or specific disciplinary interests. Applicants with prior training in research methods (such as statistics, qualitative research, epidemiology, or general research techniques) receive priority consideration.
Through examining individual, community, and organizational perspectives, the Department of Health Sciences offers insights into public health complexities. Our graduate programs prepare students to become skilled health professionals and researchers capable of improving health outcomes across Canadian populations.
