The Master of Arts in Educational Studies (with a specialization in SCPE) and Master of Education in SCPE provide learners with avenues to cultivate analytical or research-based perspectives on education, drawing from diverse academic disciplines such as cultural studies, disability studies, history, philosophy, sociology, political science, geography, indigenous knowledge systems, and policy analysis. This encompasses topics like globalization, international education, and micropolitical dynamics. Our interpretation of education extends beyond traditional schooling to incorporate non-formal educational settings and informal learning experiences throughout all phases of life. SCPE curriculum explores how critical educational theories, policies, and implementations influence civic engagement both in Canada and globally. As interdisciplinary researchers, we position education as a fundamental domain intersecting the arts, social sciences, and humanities.
