Social Studies provides an enriching atmosphere with exceptional opportunities for graduate students from diverse backgrounds and interests, spanning visual culture, anti-oppressive education, gender studies, historical awareness, ethics in education, and curriculum history and politics. Beyond mandatory coursework, a dynamic graduate community thrives through lecture series, research centers, workshops, and discussion groups.
One to two years’ of teacher education; or a four-year Bachelor’s degree in Education. In special circumstances teacher education may be waived for those applicants who have a university degree with sufficient standing and experience related to their proposed field of study.
PREREQUISITES / COURSE REQUIREMENTS
Normally 18 credits of senior course work or a professional concentration in the area of interest.
