The Technology Studies Education program serves as a platform for examining and researching information and communication technologies (ICT), emerging media, and technological philosophy. Faculty and students focus on curriculum design, teaching methods, research initiatives, and development areas such as emotional AI, cyberculture and human-machine interactions, digital ecosystems and inclusion, networked intelligence, video games, ICT implementation across K-16 educational settings (including traditional, blended, and digital learning spaces), copyright issues, open-source movements, and cultural analyses. This academic track features a shared foundational curriculum, diverse elective options, and multiple professional development pathways.
One to two years’ of teacher education; or a four-year Bachelor’s degree in Education. In special circumstances teacher education may be waived for those applicants who have a university degree with sufficient standing and experience related to their proposed field of study.
PREREQUISITES / COURSE REQUIREMENTS
Normally 18 credits of senior course work or a professional concentration in the area of interest.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Normally two years teaching experience or other relevant professional experience.
