The Master of Arts in Educational Technology equips you for roles in training, education, and related fields, such as instructional designer (developing educational programs), educational consultant (collaborating with educators to enhance teaching practices), educational technology specialist (assisting with technology integration in academic settings), and leadership positions in these areas. The program teaches you to create instructional materials and broader initiatives to enhance individual and organizational performance. Research methods training ensures your designs are grounded in evidence, while learning theory courses address human cognition and learning processes. You'll gain practical skills through classes on production tools, game design, consulting, administration, and program evaluation. The capstone experience—an internship for newcomers, a thesis-equivalent for experienced professionals, or a research thesis for those pursuing academic paths—helps you apply your skills and advance your career. Each capstone option connects you with our extensive network of partners across corporate, government, and community sectors.

Note that the Educational Technology degree does not meet Quebec's requirements for elementary or high school teaching certification. To obtain a teaching license, graduates must complete one of these undergraduate programs: BA in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, BA in Teaching English as a Second Language, or BFA in Art Education - Visual Arts.
