Our program immerses students in independent research while expanding their engagement with specialized areas of Geography. Research opportunities span these key sub-disciplines: Biogeography, Climate Studies, Economic Geography, Environmental Sustainability, Gender Geography, GIS Technology, Landform Processes, Historical Geography, Water Systems and Ice Studies, Indigenous Perspectives, Political Geography, Sociocultural Geography, and Urban Studies.
The PhD curriculum offers adaptable, research-focused learning tailored to each student's goals. Participants from diverse academic backgrounds receive guidance from leading experts in physical geography, human geography, and geospatial technologies. Graduates develop specialized knowledge that prepares them for professional paths in higher education, public service, corporate environments, or social impact organizations.

TOEFL IBT - 100 for the internet-based exam with minimum component scores of 22 (reading, listening) and 21 (writing, speaking).
