Recognizing our accountability and involvement in the hardships faced by Indigenous communities, the Department of Curriculum & Pedagogy pledges to pursue healing and reconciliation. Guided by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada: Calls to Action (2015), we embrace the task of fostering ethical, equitable, and inclusive learning environments. This requires confronting the stagnation and disorder of our industrialized, colonial education system by addressing systemic and individual omissions, dismantling restrictive frameworks, and promoting diverse worldviews and knowledge systems.
