This three-year thesis-focused MSc program equips students to design and oversee dental treatment for patients with complex medical conditions. Participants learn to identify and address medically-linked conditions impacting the oral and maxillofacial area, such as oral mucosal diseases and salivary gland issues, while also evaluating and managing orofacial pain and chemosensory disorders.
Our Oral Medicine Graduate program aims to train students to deliver exceptional care to diverse populations. Serving as an important asset for Alberta's dental and medical professionals, we support patient care while advancing research excellence at the University of Alberta. The program prepares graduates for combined academic and clinical careers, cultivating a professional atmosphere that values teamwork, ethical practice, and cooperative relationships.
