The Biological Sciences program offers both major and minor options within the Bachelor of Secondary Education degree. Key study areas encompass energy and matter dynamics, ecosystem studies, cellular processes like photosynthesis, human body systems, genetic principles, and molecular biology. We believe teaching is a vocation, and our mission is to equip you to become an inspiring educator who leaves a lasting impact. Through our Secondary Education program in the Faculty of Education, you'll gain the skills to share your enthusiasm for learning across various subjects with middle and high school students. The program features dual specialization options - combining a major and minor - enabling you to tailor your academic journey to your interests.

This comprehensive program incorporates two practical teaching components: a five-week Introductory Professional Term (IPT) followed by a nine-week Advanced Professional Term (APT), with instruction primarily focused in your major subject area. Designed as a standard four-year undergraduate path, it also accommodates those pursuing it as a post-degree qualification. Graduates qualify for Alberta teacher certification upon successful completion.
