This dual-degree program enables you to spend your initial two years at Augustana Campus in Camrose before transferring to North Campus in Edmonton for the final two years. Teaching is a vocation, and elementary education stands as an exceptionally rewarding profession. The program equips you to support the education of children from Kindergarten through Grade 6 in our culturally diverse society. Augustana, situated in Camrose, Alberta—just an hour from Edmonton—is a compact liberal arts and sciences campus hosting approximately 1,000 students from Canada and abroad. Known for its personalized approach, Augustana maintains an average class size of 22 students. The academic structure features an intensive three-week single-course term followed by an 11-week semester with up to four courses, allowing for deeper research, travel opportunities, and hands-on learning experiences while managing academic demands effectively.

Qualification Requirements

English is the primary language of instruction in all Faculties except Facult Saint-Jean. All undergraduate applicants to any program or course except Facult Saint-Jean need an adequate level of English language proficiency before admission, regardless of their citizenship status or country of origin. The University of Alberta reserves the right to use discretion in determining adequate levels of language proficiency to ensure success in academic programs.
Graduation from a recognized degree program offered by an accredited university at which English is the primary language of instruction or in a country where English is the primary language.
A score of at least 90 on the TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language - Internet-based) with no less than 21 on each band.
A score of at least 6.5 on the IELTS Academic (International English Language Testing System) with no band less than 6.0.
A score of at least 70 on the Canadian Academic English Language assessment: CAEL (paper) or CAEL CE (computer) with no band less than 60.
