Child and Youth Care professionals specialize in guiding transformation for young individuals facing various social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties. Young people often react to life changes, stress, trauma, economic hardship, violence, maltreatment, and neglect through diverse emotional and behavioral responses such as confusion, rage, isolation, hostility, despair, violent tendencies, and self-harm. Many encounter multiple obstacles and may carry various clinical diagnoses.
Growing numbers of these adolescents also face legal issues or require therapeutic support. Recognizing each individual's distinct personality and unique coping mechanisms serves as a crucial initial step. These practitioners provide essential support to young people and their families throughout this journey. They dedicate themselves to building therapeutic connections and fostering meaningful progress with these individuals and their family units.
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with the majority of Grade 11 and 12 courses at the C, U or M level including the following prerequisites:
Grade 12 English at the C or U level

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic Overall 6.0 with no band less than 6.0; TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT) or Home Edition 78; TOEFL Computer-based Test 213; Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL. In-person or Online) Overall 60; EIKEN (Test in Practical English Proficiency) Pre-1; The Michigan English Test Overall 58 with no individual score below 56; Pearson Test of English -Academic (Online & In-person) 60; Cambridge English Proficiency 173; Duolingo Overall 110 with no sub score less than 85.
