St. Francis Xavier University's Master of Adult Education (MAdEd) program emphasizes the connection between theoretical concepts and practical applications across diverse fields involving adult learning, such as community settings, colleges, and healthcare. Our philosophy recognizes that adults possess valuable life experiences that serve as meaningful knowledge resources. By consciously examining and reflecting on their professional, recreational, and volunteer experiences, adults can enhance their learning and apply these insights in numerous contexts.
This graduate program requires 30 credits and provides two study pathways:
a coursework track (comprising ten 3-credit courses)
a research track (involving six 3-credit courses plus a 12-credit thesis).‚ÄØThe thesis option is recommended for those considering advanced academic pursuits.
Instruction occurs through blended delivery methods, combining scheduled online sessions with flexible learning components, offered during evenings, late afternoons, and select weekends.
Participants have a three-year window to fulfill all degree requirements.
This program does not require physical campus residency.
