Growing awareness of nutrition has led to expanding career prospects in dietetics and nutritional sciences. StFX's Human Nutrition program provides students with comprehensive scientific knowledge about food and nutrition, enhanced by social science insights, effective communication techniques, and strategies for driving personal and societal transformation.
Graduates of StFX's Human Nutrition program gain the expertise needed to support individuals, communities, and broader populations in reaching their nutritional and wellness objectives. Our distinguished faculty guide students through a balanced curriculum of theoretical instruction and practical experiences, including laboratory work and community engagement projects.
Nutrition students collaborate with local farmers, food producers, and community groups through our Antigonish Farmers Market partnership to encourage healthier dietary habits across the region. The program also provides foundational scientific training applicable to various health professions like dietetics, medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy, while developing specialized applied science competencies.
