Our graduate programs in Arts Education provide students with chances to examine creativity and meaning creation via artistic expression, studying art methodologies, teaching approaches, and modes of inquiry. Learners will participate in artistic discovery and academic work alongside a network of artists, innovators, and arts instructors. These investigations can be applied across diverse educational settings, both conventional and unconventional.
The Master of Arts (MA) in Arts Education equips graduates for careers in multiple arts education fields and serves as excellent preparation for advanced doctoral studies. Compared to the MEd, the MA program involves fewer courses but culminates in developing and defending a scholarly thesis. Admission to the MA program is possible after finishing four courses with arts faculty approval. Five courses must be completed before formal MA acceptance, though students are advised to finish all six courses to enhance their research and thesis-writing capabilities.
