Bridge the gap between electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines. In your initial year, you'll explore fundamental mechanical engineering principles before specializing in programmable logic controllers and robotics during your last two terms. Upon completion, you'll be prepared to contribute to the design, installation, maintenance, operation, supervision, and servicing of sophisticated electromechanical systems.
Sheridan's engineering program combines academic theory with practical experience. You'll gain direct experience with automated systems and advanced mechatronic applications in our labs. Additionally, you'll have opportunities to collaborate with faculty on applied research initiatives that develop practical solutions for our industry partners.
Professional Pathways
As an electromechanical engineering technician, you'll support the setup, diagnosis, and maintenance of electromechanical equipment.

Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, including these required courses:
One English, Grade 12 (ENG4C or ENG4U) plus
One Math Grade 12 (U) or Math Grade 12 Mathematics for College Technology (MCT4C) or Math Grade 11 Functions (MCR3U) or Functions and Applications (MCF3M) or
Mature student status.

iTEP Academic - overall score 3.7
PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English) online or in person - overall score 58 with no individual section below 49
Duolingo English Language Test - overall score of 105 with no individual subscore lower than 85
Cambridge English Test Exams (B2 First/C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency score) - overall Cambridge English Scale score 169 with no individual score below 162
CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language) online or in person - overall score 60 with no individual section below 50
Sheridan EPA test - Listening Band - 4.0 Reading Combined Band - 4.0 Writing - CLB 7
Sheridan's ESL program EAP level - A minimum score of 70% in listening and speaking and 70% in reading and writing. General Education courses and Navigating Digital Environments (INFO) minimum required grade of 50%.
