Inspired by the Level 1 and 2 Trade School segments of Ontario's Basic Electrician Apprenticeship, this program provides practical training combined with classroom knowledge. You'll develop skills in designing, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining standard electrical systems, progressing to advanced electrical equipment. The curriculum covers electrical safety standards, blueprint interpretation, and offers experience with residential, commercial, and industrial electrical setups. Your education will be complemented by introductory training in AutoCAD Electrical, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), power electronics, and instrumentation. The program includes an optional paid co-op opportunity to practice your newly acquired skills in real-world work settings.
For graduates of the new curriculum (OSS): Ontario Secondary School Diploma (30 credits) or equivalent or mature student status, including:
Any grade 12 English (C) or (U)
Any grade 12 mathematics (C) or (U) (MCT4C is highly recommended)
