Political science is an engaging and diverse discipline that explores various governance systems and how nations are administered. You'll examine political institutions, social equity, fundamental freedoms, gender parity, peace and security, global progress, ecological balance, and beyond.
Our political science program features an intimate, student-centered environment with vibrant faculty. We provide classes addressing pressing modern challenges along with numerous scholarship and study abroad options, creating a fulfilling educational journey.
Political Science majors have earned academic credit by attending the Model UN conference in New York, joined exchange programs with institutions in Norway, Hong Kong, Finland, France, Mexico, Japan, and Uganda, and served as legislative assistants at the Nova Scotia Legislature during their studies.
Our scholars have contributed at the Halifax International Security Forum, attended talks by legal representatives from high-profile cases, and been honored with multiple distinctions, such as the William J. Dalton Political Science Prize and the esteemed Homburg International Study Award.
