The Public Administration graduate program serves as a connection between academia and public service. Our interdisciplinary MPA curriculum emphasizes policy evaluation, creation, and execution, equipping both emerging and seasoned professionals for impactful roles in government and nonprofit organizations. Alumni from our program have achieved prominent roles as government ministers and high-ranking officials at all levels - local, provincial, and national. Many also lead healthcare institutions, nonprofit groups, and national organizations throughout Canada. The School of Policy Studies delivers an exceptional educational journey that stands among Canada's finest and rivals top global public policy programs. The MPA program features foundational coursework in economics, policy assessment, governance, administration, and statistical methods. Students then utilize these competencies through specialized electives, tackling real-world policy challenges and organizational management issues.
MPA admission candidates will hold a four-year undergraduate degree. They must have a minimum B+ standing (3.3 GPA) standing at least in their last two years of study (or the equivalent). However, to be truly competitive, candidates should have an A- standing (3.7 GPA) in their last two years of study.
English language requirements
For international students, if required, a TOEFL total score of at least 600 (paper-based) or TOEFL iBT minimum scores of: writing (24/30); speaking (22/30); reading (22/30); listening (20/30), for a total of 88/120. Applicants must have he minimum score in each test as well as the minimum overall score.
