A degree in Epidemiology and Applied Health Research enables students to examine how diseases spread and their underlying causes, enhance healthcare systems, and create strategies for disease prevention in communities. Our interdisciplinary research methods provide students from various educational backgrounds with training in research techniques, statistical analysis, health policy development, and implementing research findings. These skills equip graduates for diverse and fulfilling career paths throughout the healthcare industry.
The thesis-focused Master's program in Epidemiology and Applied Health Research starts with a year of coursework covering fundamental and advanced concepts in epidemiology and biostatistics. Students then undertake an intensive research project, developing a thesis proposal that applies their knowledge to practical challenges. The program concludes with a thesis presentation where students showcase their expertise in the field.
Enrolment in the program is limited. If your application is successful you'll be invited to an interview as part of the admission process. We prefer students whose background includes at least two of the following:
