Queen's University offers joint graduate programs in engineering and applied physics. The research focuses on applying fundamental science and physics principles to enhance quality of life and address pressing challenges affecting communities in Canada and globally. Investigations cover diverse fields including photonics, quantum computing, medical physics, materials science, electronic devices, non-destructive testing, and plasma physics. Students collaborate with faculty members who are licensed engineers, many with industry experience and entrepreneurial backgrounds. These interdisciplinary programs enable students to leverage multiple academic perspectives. Participants may also collaborate with medical students and researchers through the Medical Physics Research Group at the nearby Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario. Additional research opportunities exist at Toronto's Sunnybrook Hospital.
