Humans and animals share more similarities than many realize. This four-year Specialization Subject Plan combines fundamental aspects of Biology and Psychology, offering extensive opportunities for advanced specialization and independent research in later years. The "BioPsych" SSP emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration while examining both shared traits and uniquely human characteristics of brain function, behavior, and cognition.

We aim to cultivate graduates who are actively involved, self-directed, thoughtful, and capable of critical analysis—individuals who will be motivated and equipped to make meaningful contributions to society. Our Department takes particular pride in promoting seamless integration across all biological levels, ensuring our research and teaching demonstrate a holistic understanding of biological systems from molecular to ecosystem scales. The Biology undergraduate program delivers a balanced, high-caliber education designed to instill lifelong appreciation and application of biological principles. Ultimately, we teach students to 'think scientifically'—employing evidence-based reasoning to comprehend phenomena and address challenges. This essential skill enhances decision-making abilities, benefiting not only graduates pursuing scientific research but also those entering diverse fields such as education, healthcare, biotechnology, business, law, and management.
