The Artist in Community Education (ACE) program caters to working artists across visual arts, music, drama, and creative writing disciplines. This program leads to Ontario College of Teachers certification. It's available to both final-year Concurrent Education students and Consecutive Education teacher candidates. Spanning four consecutive terms from May through August the following year, the program serves both Primary-Junior and Intermediate-Senior candidates. Queen's graduates enter the workforce sooner, with Intermediate-Senior candidates required to choose one teaching specialization from four options: Dramatic Arts, Music, English, or Visual Arts. Participants undertake 20 weeks of placements, including an alternative practicum that can be completed globally in any arts-related setting outside traditional schools. Travel grants assist with international educational experiences, including alternative practicums. The program emphasizes collaborative learning and examines how artists and arts education positively impact schools, communities, and society at large.

A minimum “B” average in best 10 full-year courses based on the grading scheme of the issuing postsecondary institution.
1 half‚Äëyear course in Developmental Psychology (or equivalent) or 1 full‚Äëyear course in Introductory Psychology (or equivalent).

The TOEFL iBT test code number 8573 must be used to ensure that the results are forwarded directly to the Faculty of Education. Required test scores: Minimum 24 on the Reading component, 23 on the Listening, 28 on each of the Writing and Speaking components, with a minimum 103 overall.
Request the Academic test. Required test scores: minimum 6.5 on both the Reading and Listening components, and a minimum of 7.0 on the Writing and Speaking components, with a minimum 7.0 overall.
