Cultivate ethical approaches to knowledge production that respond to evolving cultural, technological, and decolonial contexts through dedicated practice and scholarly inquiry. Within the Interdisciplinary Art, Media and Design (IAMD) program, you'll become part of a vibrant network of both emerging and experienced creators, scholars, community organizers, innovators, educators, authors, and performers. Working alongside faculty, fellow students, visiting artists, and community partners, you'll engage in cross-cultural exchanges through artistic, media, and design practices. The program emphasizes investigating interdisciplinary creative methodologies while deepening your knowledge of heritage practices, performance arts, digital media, fabrication technologies, and beyond.
Application for admission into the Interdisciplinary Master’s in Art, Media & Design at OCAD U is a highly competitive process. Applicants must hold a BA, BFA, BDes, or comparable honours degree/certification with an average of 80 per cent (A-) or better during the last two years of study, or must demonstrate exceptional experience/expertise as a practicing artist, designer or scholar.
English language competency
TOEFL IBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language internet-based test) Overall score of 90 and no scores below the following: 22 Reading, 20 Listening, 22 Writing, 22 Speaking.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Overall score of 7, and at least a 7 on each of the academic modules.
