Sociology examines social structures and human interactions using scientific methods, focusing on systematic analysis and diverse sociological viewpoints. Researchers explore the roots of societal challenges such as disparities in race, ethnicity, healthcare, education, gender, and economic status. They analyze how shifts in family dynamics, demographics, belief systems, ecological factors, and cultural norms impact both individuals and communities. Candidates enrolled in a Concurrent Education degree program who successfully finish their Nipissing Honours degree, including specialized Concurrent Education coursework, by April's end will advance to the fifth and sixth years of the Bachelor of Education professional phase. All mandatory courses for the Honours degree and/or teaching specialization prerequisites must be finalized by May 1 of the intended transition year into BEd Year 5.
