Diaspora and transnational studies explores the historical and modern migration of populations, along with the intricate issues of identity and lived experiences that emerge from these movements, as well as the innovative opportunities they create. This comparative, interdisciplinary program incorporates perspectives from social sciences, history, and the arts. Participants must complete two connected half-courses that provide an overview of diverse themes and academic approaches. The curriculum includes numerous elective courses, enabling students to study various diasporic groups and engage with central discussions in the discipline. The program culminates with a 1.0 credit 400-level capstone course (or two paired half-courses).
