The curriculum spans multiple disciplines, integrating perspectives from Social Welfare and Social Development, Religions and Cultures, Political Science, and Philosophy. It caters to students passionate about analyzing popular culture critically; legal approaches to combating inequality; global human rights issues; international conflict resolution; transnational activism; colonial histories; feminist thought; postmodern theories; justice frameworks; and intersections of identity markers like race, class, ability, and gender.
From daily social media engagement to evening streaming habits, media fundamentally shapes our self-perception, social connections, and worldview. Culture and Criticism courses meticulously examine media portrayals of gender, race, class, and sexuality, revealing how these representations both mirror and amplify societal disparities and shifts.
