Nipissing University offers four specialized streams to choose from: Policing, Corrections, Criminology, or Criminal Justice Studies. Our adaptable curriculum provides an ideal mix of academic knowledge and hands-on experience. The following qualifications are the minimum required for admission consideration to Nipissing University. Applicants are required to achieve a high overall standing in their studies and must include the appropriate program specific prerequisites depending on the degree program to which they have applied. Please note that possession of the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission to an applicant's program of interest and/or Nipissing University.
International applicants are not eligible for consideration under Nipissing University’s Mature Student Admission Policy.
Common Credentials: British Patterned Education; CAPE (Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations); French Patterned Education; International Baccalaureate (IB).
Required 4U or Equivalent Courses from other provinces or countries: English
Achieve the required proficiency level on one of the following tests of English language proficiency:
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): minimum score of 83 (iBT) with a minimum score of 20 in reading, listening and writing, and a minimum score of 22 in speaking.
International English Language Test Service (IELTS): minimum overall band score of 6.5 with a minimum 6.5 in reading, listening, speaking and writing.
Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: minimum overall score of 58 with a minimum score of 56 in speaking, writing, reading and listening.
