Humber's Bachelor of Social Science – Criminal Justice Honours Degree equips students with an in-depth knowledge of the justice system, methods for examining worldwide challenges, and chances to assess how society and individuals address criminal behavior. Guided by instructors with extensive research and practical expertise, the program blends academic concepts with real-world applications for a multidisciplinary learning approach. Special focus is given to examining systemic biases within justice systems and their impact on underserved populations. Other study areas cover psychological perspectives on criminal behavior and contemporary equity concerns.
During the initial year, students engage in a shared social science foundation program alongside peers from the Social & Community Services Faculty. The subsequent three years delve into numerous criminal justice subjects. Collaborative assignments and presentations build essential knowledge and analytical abilities, preparing graduates for diverse, fast-changing careers in justice. The program includes a mandatory work placement (available in flexible formats), offering practical experience while enhancing professional connections and career readiness.
