This intensive one-year program, leading to an Ontario College Graduate Certificate, welcomes internationally educated students. The curriculum expands on mental health fundamentals from prior healthcare education, examining contemporary Canadian mental health trends, evidence-based nursing and healthcare practices for treating various mental health conditions across all age groups, legal/ethical considerations in mental healthcare, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Program Features: Participation in the Co-Curricular Record initiative, acknowledging extracurricular involvement and leadership. Hands-on training using simulated patients. Dedicated international student advising and transition services through the International Division. Certification in Gentle Persuasive Approaches for dementia and cognitive impairment care. Student must have a College Diploma or University Degree in a related health care discipline (as determined by the College), or an acceptable combination of related work experience and post-secondary education
If you have earned the equivalent of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) from outside Canada, you will be required to provide proof of one or more of the following:
TOEFL - Paper: 550 (TESL: 600); Computer: 213; iBT: 79-80 minimum: 22 Writing, 22 Speaking
IELTS: 6.5 overall, No individual band under 5.5
CAEL: 60 - No band under 50
EAP: Completion of Level 5 English for Academic Preparation (EAP) program with 75% and no individual grade under 60%
