For communities to flourish, thoughtful expansion is essential. However, such growth requires strategic management due to limited space and land availability. The Applied Community Planning graduate certificate equips you with expertise in rural and urban planning, community development, and public policy to foster dynamic, sustainable, and thriving communities.
Our multidisciplinary program focuses on overseeing land, resources, and services, addressing key areas like planning procedures, community involvement, public engagement, development strategies, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), data research and interpretation, planning regulations, and evaluation of contemporary planning challenges.
Designed to meet National Professional Standards Board requirements, students participate in planning exercises, teamwork, and hands-on learning experiences utilizing current software while implementing community planning concepts in Canadian professional settings. Combined with relevant work experience, this program prepares graduates to pursue certification as Registered Professional Planners (RPP) in New Brunswick or other provinces.
