Memorial University's (MUN) Grenfell Campus provides Master of Science (MSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs specializing in Boreal Ecosystems and Agricultural Sciences. These graduate programs equip students with expertise in Agronomy, Soil Science, Hydrology, Land & Water Management, and Plant Science within boreal environments. The curriculum emphasizes creating sustainable farming systems through precision agriculture, studying land use impacts, and examining how environmental factors influence biogeochemical cycles and plant-soil-water-atmosphere interactions in boreal regions, with particular attention to natural resources and agricultural sciences in a changing climate. Both MSc and PhD candidates complete required coursework and undertake research projects, either in laboratory or field settings, leading to a thesis defense. MSc – The Master's program mandates completion of at least 12 credit hours, including three core courses (BEAS 6000, 6002, and 600A & B) plus one elective from the program's course listings, culminating in a required thesis.

Qualification Requirements
To be considered for admission, applicants shall hold a Bachelor's (Honours) degree normally in Science, Agriculture, Forestry, Engineering, Geography, or Environmental Science with at least second class standing, or equivalent, from an institution recognized by the Senate or shall have qualifications and/or experience in environmental science acceptable to the Dean of Graduate Studies and the Grenfell Campus graduate committee.
The minimum English proficiency test scores are as follows:
TOEFL: An aggregate score of 80 (92 for graduate programs with higher English proficiency requirements).
IELTS Academic: An aggregate score of 6.5 (7 for graduate programs with higher English proficiency requirements).
Duolingo English Test: An aggregate score of 115 (125 for graduate programs with higher English proficiency requirements).
CAEL - A score between 50 and 60 in each of four bands, with at least 2 band scores of 60.
MET: A score of 59%.
PTE Academic - Minimum scores of 58 in each of reading, writing, listening, and speaking
