The Master of Science in Applied Geomatics (MSc AG) at Memorial University is a collaborative program between Grenfell Campus and College of the North Atlantic's Corner Brook location. Participants begin by completing the GIS Applications Specialist post-diploma at College of the North Atlantic (CNA), earning a diploma upon successful completion. They then transition into Memorial's MSc in Applied Geomatics, conducting thesis research under the guidance of Grenfell's expert faculty. The program fosters collaboration with regional research partners from provincial, federal, and non-governmental organizations. Combining comprehensive spatial data analysis training with specialized research culminating in a thesis, this program equips graduates for advanced careers requiring environmental spatial analysis. Upon completion, students receive a Master of Science degree in applied geomatics from Memorial University.
Grenfell Campus is celebrated for its environmental programs, offering access to faculty with varied environmental expertise. Situated in western Newfoundland, the campus provides exceptional fieldwork opportunities across diverse boreal ecosystems, including wetlands, forests, coastal areas, river systems, and tundra. With around 1,300 students, Grenfell maintains an intimate learning environment that fosters close faculty-student collaboration.
The MSc AG program consists of core and specialization courses, followed by a required thesis component.
