Studying a foreign language aligns with the core mission of university education: equipping individuals to think critically, evaluate, solve problems, and interact effectively in a culturally diverse world. Memorial's Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures acknowledges that motivations for pursuing graduate studies in German can stem from various personal and career aspirations. Consequently, it embraces students from different backgrounds with diverse objectives.
The cultural and language proficiency gained through graduate-level German studies equips learners for professional opportunities or continued academic pursuits. Those aiming for teaching careers are particularly encouraged to join Memorial's Teaching Skills Enhancement Program.
